Once upon a time, there was a fisherwoman named Maria, who lived in a small village by the sea. Every day, she would go out to sea in her boat to fish and bring food for her family and the village. But one day, she made a surprising discovery.
While she was fishing, Maria saw a white serpent floating in the water. Surprisingly, the serpent spoke to her and asked for help to get out of the water, as it was injured. Maria, even though afraid of the serpent, decided to help it.
When Maria pulled the serpent into the boat, she saw that the serpent was indeed gravely injured. Maria cared for the serpent and took it home so it could recover. Surprisingly, the serpent not only survived but also became Maria's most loyal and trustworthy friend.
The white serpent, whom Maria named Branca, began to accompany Maria on all her fishing trips. Branca helped Maria find the best fishing spots and warned her about impending storms. They formed a strong and lasting friendship.
However, not everyone in the village accepted Maria's friendship with the serpent. Some were afraid and believed that Branca was a sign of bad luck. But Maria didn't care about their opinions; she knew that Branca was a true friend who always helped her.
One day, Maria and Branca went fishing in a rough and stormy sea. The storm worsened, and they became stranded at sea. Maria, who didn't know how to swim, was scared, but Branca was there to help her. The white serpent coiled around Maria's body and kept her safe until the boat was rescued.
After that incident, the people of the village saw how important Branca was to Maria. The white serpent became a legend in the village, and many young fishermen dreamed of having a friendship as special as Maria and Branca's.
Maria continued fishing with Branca by her side, knowing that she would always be there to help and protect her. She learned that true friendship has no limits, and that sometimes, you can find friends in unexpected places.
